it sure sounds like that when listening to our health-geniuses-talking-heads on the news, who utter not a word about adults and children lost to influenza and pneumonia this week.
Here is a CDC Influenza update for Week 12, ending March 21, 2020
37 states experience high Influenza-Like Illness (ILI) activity
49 states report regional or widespread influenza activity
The overall cumulative hospitalization rate increased to 67.3 per 100,000
The percentage of deaths attributed to pneumonia and influenza is 7.4%, above the epidemic threshold of 7.3%
6 influenza-associated pediatric deaths were reported this week. The total for the season is 155
The number of deaths (for the week 11) was 365 from influenza and 2,431 from pneumonia (Dr. Why: curiously enough, CDC reports influenza and pneumonia deaths together, meaning we do not know what caused these pneumonias)
